Article 1

Purpose

Miss Africa United is an international event organized by the International Melanesian and African Contestants Committee (IMAC), celebrating unity, cultural diversity, and the empowerment of young women of African origin, the African diaspora, and Melanesian communities.

Article 2

Age

Each contestant must be between 18 and 28 years of age as of December 31 of the year of the competition.

Article 3

Origin and Eligibility

3.0 Purpose and Principle

Miss Africa United exists to promote the cultures, heritage, and empowerment of women of African descent and Melanesian heritage. The eligibility conditions below are interpreted in light of this purpose.

3.1 Africa, Africa’s Overseas Territories, Indian Ocean Islands, and Melanesia

Candidates must fulfil one of the following:

  • Hold nationality of or trace ancestry to an African country, an African overseas territory, an Indian Ocean island, or Melanesia (including all Melanesian ethnic groups such as Kanak, Papuan, Ni-Vanuatu, Fijian, Solomon Islander, etc.)
  • Be of Amazigh, Afro-Arab, Afro-Asiatic, Afro-European, or mixed African descent
  • Hold the official national Miss title for the year of competition

3.2 United States, the Americas, and the African Diaspora

The contest is open to young women from African-descendant communities in the Americas (North, Central, and South), including:

  • Descendants of slavery (African populations deported during the transatlantic slave trade)
  • Descendants of historical or recent African migration outside the context of slavery
  • Afro-American, Afro-Caribbean, and persons of mixed heritage from the Caribbean, Africa, or the Americas
Article 4

Civil Status and Good Standing

  • Be single and without dependent children at the time of registration and for the duration of the competition
  • Not pregnant at the time of the competition
  • Have an unblemished reputation and clean criminal record
  • Not be bound by any exclusive contract incompatible with participation
Article 5

Identity and Presentation

The competition is open to individuals who identify and live as women, in accordance with the law and fundamental rights.

Article 6

Physical Appearance

Each contestant must present a natural physical appearance and must not have undergone major aesthetic transformations that substantially alter her original appearance or identity. Minor procedures (dermatology, orthodontics, etc.) do not cause exclusion.

Article 7

Commitments and Obligations

  • Provide all documents proving eligibility (passport, birth certificate, proof of Miss or runner-up title, etc.)
  • Participate in all official activities, rehearsals, and events
  • Comply with the rules and promote the image and values of Miss Africa United
  • Consent to the use of her image, name, and surname by the organization for communication and promotional purposes
Article 8

Participation Fees

All contestants, regardless of selection (titleholder, runner-up, agency candidate or local contest), must pay the participation fee set by the organization. These are non-refundable except in cases of force majeure defined by IMAC.

Article 9

Selection and Admission

The Organizing Committee has sole authority to validate entry. Any false statement will result in immediate disqualification.

Article 10

Media Commitment

Each contestant agrees that her image, name, and voice may be used by the organization to promote the contest, without additional compensation.

Article 11

Acceptance of Regulations

Competing in Miss Africa United implies full and unconditional acceptance of these rules.
